East Grinstead at home, Prem - 10 Nov 2012

A clear but cold afternoon greeted the two teams at Warlingham, who both impeccably observed a minutes silence before the start of the game for Rememberance Day.

Both teams came out fighting scrappily, with an exchange of goals at either end. EG then started to control the ball against the ever watertight Purley defence however, managed to grab the lead off of behind the back attempt from EG. The game was then controlled by EG in the second quarter and they managed to extend their lead to two, however Purley managed to get one back with a nice goal from behind by Matt Carey.

The 3rd quarter saw Purley surge back, winning the quarter 2-1, which included a nice fast break goal implemented by Paul Terry from the goal, carried by Andy Davies and finished by Matt Carey to level the score going into the final period.

The final quarter saw EG come out strong and managed to notch up 3 very quick goals, including a fast break of their own. Purley managed to get one back after that, but with some good stifling play from EG, they managed to close the game out despite Purleys efforts and clung on to win 7-5, which should set up an interesting re-match.
